Coffee, yum! This place had a great coffee expierance. I had the recommended "hot spicy wench" and it was delicious, cured me of the cold beach breeze from my morning walk. The baristas were both very friendly and even suggested a few beach spots when asked. The cafe area was wide and comfy, large tables and chairs to accommodate many and allow for studying or relaxing depending on the need. The cafe even has a view of the ocean/beach, but it is not beach front. The pirate theme was great, they had stacks of pirate and ocean themed books available for perusing at each of the tables, which is great if you forgot to bring in your own read or want to learn more about pirates. Enjoyed my stay, will be back when I'm in the area.

I have been here twice. Coffee was okay, as was both hot and iced tea. Snacks are okay. BUT, this place has no wireless. There is ample seating (and nobody here both times I was here) and no wireless. The person as the desk suggested I mooch off of the neighborhood hotels but that isn't acceptable. Charge 20 cents more per drink and spring for wireless.

This used to be Tsunami Coffee; it was purchased and remodeled in Dec 2011 by the son-in-law of Pirate Coffee owners in Depoe Bay, according to the owner, whom we met this morning. Big sign in front says "Pirate Coffee Company." They have a display case full of chocolates, including truffles, fudge, etc. and a few pastries. Fireplace and separate eating area on one side, coffee/drinks can be purchased to-go in separate counter area. I had hot chocolate with whipped cream, which was very good but not the best I've tasted (way better than Starbucks, though -ick). Owner is very friendly. Would use again, but they don't open until 8 - at least in February of 2012. Prices and sizes are normal for coffee places, in my experience.

This was quite easily the worst coffee I've ever had. The espresso was burnt and the drip coffee I was give was luke warm and terrible. Pay no attention to the 'Voted Best Coffee' sign out front. It will just enhance the catastrophe of an experience you will have.

Great coffee, friendly baristas. A nice selection of gluten free items too. Lots of seating and fast WiFi. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to have coffee with friends, you can't do better than Pirate Coffee.

Stopped in on a cool Monday morning in August. They don't open till 8 which was a little disappointing for a coffee joint. There were 7or 8 people in line plus several cars in the drive through when they opened which overwhelmed the single barista for a while. They had a few gluten-free pastries which looked good but I didn't try. I had the coffee of the day which was quite good. The dining area is OK , but the radio was blaring static which didn't exactly set up the calm morning atmosphere I was seeking at the Oregon coast.

Very yummy! Both drinks we ordered were very tasty; I got the grog, he got the wench. Service was friendly, had yummy looking treats and kind of neat mugs, too! Would definitely come back here!

Their coffee is really good! They have super fun flavors and names for their coffee. There is a great eating/ sitting area, and a nice fireplace. Great place to go on a foggy early morning at the beach.

In the area for a quick couples getaway and decided to stop in for some java. It's a cute place, nice & friendly service with mediocre coffee.... and my husband says that is putting it nicely! He got the grog & I got the spicy wentch; We were both sadly disappointed!! :( After reading the reviews, this place seems to be very "hit or miss" and IMO one thing that makes a good cafe is consistency! The sign claims they were voted "BEST OF THE BEST".... Sorry mateys, but I couldn't disagree more!!

Awful coffee. There's a reason they have do many heavily flavored drinks on the menu. I ordered my usual, a 16oz shot in the dark (coffee with an extra double shot). It's a real test of a barrista's skill. Pirate's failed; bitter to the point of being undrinkable. Go to Starbucks before coming here.

If this stuff doesn't wake you up, nothing will! It's usually my first stop whenever visiting LC early in the day. The freshly roasted house coffee never disappoints.

Found this place on our way from Lincoln City to Depoe Bay. Staff was patient to our indecisiveness. I had an americano which was spot on. She had the spicy wench. i hate to admit her's was much better. It was a cross of a chai latte and pumpking spice latte. very good. The store inside was quirky very unique with "pirate" decorations and language everywhere.

Well -- it's good enough, but not good enough to make me a regular. I came to the Pacific Northwest expecting to be surrounded by great coffee, great baristas, and lots of choices for both -- but I drove through the Pirate Coffee Co.'s little window, ordered a large iced latte (yes, I know it's winter and just 40 degrees outside -- get over it!) -- and the young man at the counter handed me a smallish cup -- and all the ice was already melted into the coffee drink, leaving me with an un-iced cup of watery and tasteless coffee-ish drink. The flavor of the coffee was fine (I guess) but he obviously didn't know how to make an iced espresso drink without turning it into coffee-milk-water. I will give them another try since they are so convenient to my house -- who knows but that this may have been a really off-day. But just one more chance.... then it's back to Starbucks.

SLOW service forces me to give a low review. Stopping in to get coffee took over 15 minutes. Two staff working but only one making coffees. Coffee is good enough and staff is friendly but won't be back.

Stopped by here on a rainy day, coffee not too bad, we ordered two lattes, nice spacious interior and friendly staff. Be sure to read some of the pirate books as they are pretty interesting. I like the large raised wooden tables and this seems like a good place to hang out with a laptop.

Fun spot close to the beach access at the d river. Enjoyed sitting down. Muffin was a bit dry, but the coffee was good!

Can't give five stars because I've only been once. This place says it was voted best so we had to stop in and check it out. I LOVE coffee and needed a cup of jo so bad and I ordered what the call a "pirate" (not listed on menu) and it was sooooo yummy. I loved the vibe in here and the employees were very nice. I will be back to one of the many along the coast for some more :)

I can NOT say enough about this place. My husband and I are total coffee snobs. My husband's coffee order is simple, and by Italian standards, so is mine, yet seems to cause issues. I love a proper "stained with milk" macchiato. Thanks to Starbucks, this simple little Italian coffee drink has been turned into an over sugared, over milked, mammoth drink that is disgusting and that most quick train barista wanna be's use as a gauge and think the drink should be. (that is another story) If I walk up to a new coffee place and order and espresso macchiato, and the barista asks me what size, my heart sinks and then I go into "let's train the barista properly" mode. (I did say I was a snob, but I am a nice snob and I nicely explain how to do it and encourage them to google what the true drink is and how to make it). Once I explain it to a person, I can also tell as soon as I have the cup in my hand if they listened, or (and this happens often) they think they know, tell me yes, but in reality, again, were not properly trained. We pulled up to the drive through portion of Pirate Coffee and a very nice young lady smiled and asked for our order. I hesitantly asked if she could make the drink and my heart soared when she asked "main stream style or proper?" Yay!! Her eyes lit up with excitement when I said proper and thank you so much for knowing how!! The next test, of course, the handing over of the cup. Again, my heart soared!! The cup was the perfect weight and the smell had the perfect amount of "stain". The taste was so good. Not bitter, not burned, and it has some lovely sweet undertones that made it a smooth and tasty drink. It does not stop there. Not only was the coffee delicious, but the ladies on that day were so lovely. They set the tone for our expectations for the friendliness of the town and the coffee shops. (that is another story) We tried a few other places and after the surly customer service and crap coffee, we returned to Pirate Coffee to apologize for trying other places. The gent there was delightful. He was the son-in-law to the owners and his warm personality and knowledge of the town and coffee was so refreshing after we had spent the last few days dealing with cranky locals who made it very clear they would sell stuff to us, but they did not want us there. (we are nice people!! we smile and ask how their day is and even try to joke and have fun with them. In short, we are evil) I am so sorry I never got the gents name, but I cannot go on enough about him, the lovely ladies or the shop. My advice to anyone who wants to go to Lincoln City is, go straight to the shop. Even if you don't drink coffee, stop here and get the town scoop. He shared with us the best places to dine, the places that are not really what we were looking for, and gave us town info for beaches and stuff to look at. Love love love this place. Cannot say enough about it. The staff is lovely, the coffee is great and the pastries are great. Thank you so much to them for being there and for being the shining star in the town that makes us want to come back. (sorry locals, but no worries, we will not bother you in your sad little stores)

Great coffee! Very smooth and they were able to make me a raspberry mocha with soy. Soo good, I had to bring a little bag of their espresso back home as a souvenir! Prices are not that bad when you consider they roast it there. Their bags of coffee and espresso are also a great deal.
